Using our website
We've tried to make our website as easy to use and accessible as possible.
To do this we have designed the site in accordance with guidelines set out by the Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI) and the Royal National Insitute for the Blind (RNIB) as well as following our own guidelines that we believe make for a good website.
Visual design
This website was designed using guidelines as mentioned above, which include:
- an easy-to-use and visually pleasing colour scheme that fits in with our charity's corporate identity
- an easy to read non-serif (sans serif) font type, size and colour
- cascading style sheets for visual layout, colours and fonts
- a site design size for an 800 x 600 view to eliminate scrolling for the majority of our site visitors, even those with small screens
- using meaningful hyperlink and alt text for all images (you can see this if you hover over a link or an image with your cursor) to provide descriptions.
